Put Candidates on the Record

One of the most important things you can do to end government-sponsored torture is to work to elect anti-torture candidates to Congress. A bi-partisan majority in the House and Senate currently oppose torture, but they are being stymied in their efforts to end it by a vigorous pro-torture minority. You can help change that by working to put candidates on the record on the issue of torture, and by helping to ensure that anti-torture candidates (of either party) defeat pro-torture candidates (again, of either party).

The most important step you can take is to show up to campaign events and ask candidates about their positions on torture.
