(Washington, D.C.) The National Religious Campaign Against Torture Action Fund released several voter guides comparing candidates on the issue of torture. Rev. Richard Killmer, Executive Director of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, described the guides:
“As people of faith, it is clear to us that torture is always wrong. We believe our nation should be represented by people with strong values who consistently oppose torture. While many congressional candidates take a clear stand against torture in their answers to the National Religious Campaign Against Torture Action Fund candidate questionnaire, other candidates refuse to take any stand at all. We hope that those candidates will now take the opportunity to take a clear stand against torture and its euphemisms including ‘enhanced interrogation techniques.’”
