You can tell people how their vote will make a difference by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper that either thanks your incumbent Representative or Senator for his or her good votes to end torture – or takes him or her to task for failing to vote against torture. Get involved today - we've got suggestions and sample letters available.

Tell your Members of Congress what you think about their voting record. Use the Congressional Vote Scorecards to find your Members’ scores. If they have a high score (near 100), then they’ve been strong advocates for ending U.S.-sponsored torture – call them and thank them for their efforts to end torture, and ask them to keep up the good work. If they have a low score (near 0), then they’ve stood in the way of efforts to end U.S.-sponsored torture – call them and tell them that you’re disappointed they haven’t done more to end torture and that you hope they’ll do better in the future.

You can reach your Senators’ or Representative’s office by calling the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and asking to be transferred to his or her office.
